RTR aims for a long-term contribution to the overall European railway sector and sets itself a unique strategy, vision and mission statement
As RTR, our core strategy is to act as an accelerator to move from a project-oriented approach towards a product-oriented approach when buying rolling stock!
Our vision is to improve the product development and procurement process of the European railway sector to reduce non-value adding activities and the overall required effort across market sides.
Ultimately, we aim for an increased reliability of service and products as well as a general improvement of public transport competitiveness and reduction of costs for end-consumers.
Lead times shall be sustainably shortened to simplify rolling stock configurations which ultimately also lead to overall lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Similarly, inefficiencies through individual customization shall be minimized via the potential use of RTR’s commonly applied principles, following a demand driven product notion.
Via the voluntary participation of all involved parties as well as transparency of developed results to interested parties, RTR aims for sustainable application as well as long-term improvement and the application of the RTR results remains voluntary.
